Women's Volleyball Shuts Out St. Elizabeth on the Road

Morristown, NJ---The Brooklyn College women's volleyball team rolled to its fourth straight victory this evening, defeating the College of St. Elizabeth on the road 3-0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-19).  Brooklyn improves to 14-6 with the victory while CSE drops to 7-15.  The Bulldogs will be home tomorrow, October 18, for a non-conference match against St. Joseph's College Long Island at 6:00 pm.

Led by BC senior outside hitter, Michaela Appel's match-high 13 kills, the Bulldogs finished the match with a hitting percentage of .167 to the Eagles .079.

After winning the first set, the Bulldogs would find themselves trailing the home team, 17-14 in the second.  Brooklyn would then go on a 7-0 run for the 20-17 lead.  The rally proved to be crucial as the Eagles would claw their way back into the set.  With the second set tied 24-24, the Bulldogs would benefit from a CSE service error and an attacking error to end the set.

BC freshman setter, Ezri Shor, finished with 10 kills, two service aces, and seven assists.  Defensively, sophomore outside hitter, Yana Shaposhnikova, finished with a match-high 18 digs.  Sophomore setter, Kate Meltsin, led Brooklyn with 19 assists.
