Santa Cruz, CA---The Brooklyn College women's volleyball team closed out the 2018 regular season this evening, falling at UC Santa Cruz 3-0 (25-9, 25-18,25-7). Despite the loss, the Bulldogs finished the regular season with a program best 18 wins. BC enters the upcoming CUNYAC Championships as the No. 2 seed and a bye to the semifinals of the conference tournament at Baruch on Friday, November 2.
After the home team rolled to victory in the first set, the Bulldogs put up a fight in the second, taking a 15-14 lead halfway through the set. However, the Banana Slugs used a four-score rally to take the lead for good.
UC Santa Cruz finished with 14 total blocks to the Bulldogs' four.
Freshman setter,
Ezri Shor, and senior outside hitter,
Michaela Appel, led Brooklyn with five kills a piece. Appel added 12 digs to her night while Shor set for five assists.
