BARUCH COLLEGE New York, NY---The Brooklyn College women's volleyball team had its championship run cut short this evening, falling to John Jay College, 3-1 (14-25, 21-25, 25-22, 27-29), in the conference tournament semifinals hosted by the Baruch College. BC exits the tournament with an 18-10 record. John Jay advanced to the championship match at 8:00 pm tonight against the winner of No. 1 Hunter College and No. 4 Baruch College. Brooklyn is still eligible for ECAC postseason play.
John Jay would come out of the gate on a tear this evening jumping out to a, 11-5 lead to start the match. After winning the first set convincingly, the two teams battled in the second set. However, with the second set tied, 20-20, the Bloodhounds made its run at the right time with three straight scores for the 23-20 advantage. John Jay took a 2-0 lead after two straight kills to end the second set.
On the brink of elimination trailing 22-16 in the third set, the Bulldogs didn't give in and completed an epic comeback. Beginning with a kill put away by sophomore middle hitter,
Rain Zhang, Brooklyn rallied for nine straight scores to take the set and stay alive in the tournament for one more set.
BC carried plenty of the momentum from the third set to the fourth. Trailing the Bloodhounds 18-16, the Bulldogs once again rallied late with five straight scores including two kills and a service ace contributed by senior outside hitter,
Michaela Appel. Looking like the tables had turned in the Bulldogs' favor with BC now up 24-21, John Jay would score three straight to tie the set 24-24. After exchanging one-point leads, John Jay had the last say with back-to-back kills for the match.

Ezri Shor led the way with 15 kills, two service aces, 13 assists, and 14 digs. Appel added 13 kills. Sophomore
Claudia Moi set for a team-high 17 assists. Freshman libero,
Isabela Perroncino shared a match-high 26 digs with John Jay's Brianna Geraldo.
