Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Bulldogs Women's Basketball team won their second straight, and fourth out of their last five on Friday night, defeating visiting CCNY, 78-38, at West Quad.  Brooklyn improves to 8-6 on the season (5-1 CUNYAC), while CCNY falls to 8-6 (4-3 CUNYAC).

How it Happened

• After a closely contested first quarter in which Brooklyn claimed a 17-13 advantage, the Bulldogs opened the second quarter with a 15-0 run, claiming a 32-13 lead, after which the game was never in question.
• During the run, reserve, Grace Martinez-Espina, hit three three-pointers, keying the BC attack.
• Brooklyn was able to tally 18 steals, including 5 from freshman Kayla Trembone.
• The Bulldogs also out-rebounded the Beavers 51-32 on the evening.

Leading the Bulldogs

• Five players got into double-figure scoring for Brooklyn - Jasmine Hansgen (18), Alexandra Moogan (17), Taylor George (16), Chanel Jemmott (14), Grace Martinez-Espina (11).
• Michelle Pena notched a game-high 9 assists, while dishing out 7 of those in the first half.
• Moogan (14 boards) and Jemmott (10 rebounds) completed double-doubles on the evening, while the duo also nabbed 4 steals a piece.

The Bulldogs will have a nice break prior to traveling to John Jay next Wednesday, January 16th, to take on the Bloodhounds in another conference game.
