BC Pulls Out 60-54 Win Over Adrian to Advance to Alvernia Tourney Championship

Reading, PA---Trailing by double-digits in the first half, the Brooklyn College women's made their move in the third quarter en route to a 60-54 win over Adrian College this afternoon in the Alvernia University Tip-Off Tournament.  BC improves to 2-0 to start the season while Adrian drops to 2-1.  The Bulldogs will now take on host, Alvernia, in the tournament championship tomorrow, November 17, at 2pm. Game Summary
-Leading 45-43 with 1:25 to go in the third period, BC junior guard, Taylor George, scored four straight points giving the Bulldogs a 49-43 advantage heading into the fourth.  Brooklyn carried the momentum into the fourth period, taking their largest lead of the game, 56-44, with 7:01 left in regulation after a 6-0 run capped by a made three drained by freshman guard, Dasha Goodman.  Adrian chipped away at the lead from that point on, cutting BC's lead to 56-54, with 18 seconds to go.  However, the Bulldogs sealed the deal with a pair of stops and shot a perfect 4-4 from the charity stripe down the stretch.  
-BC trailed by as many as 10 points in the second period before going on a 13-4 run to close out the first half.  Adrian held on to a 32-31 halftime lead.
-The Bulldogs held Adrian to 30% shooting from the field in the second half in 11% from beyond the arc.  
-Brooklyn shot a perfect 7-7 from the free-throw line in the second half and 10-12 as a team for the game. 
-Adrian out-rebounded BC 17-5 on the offensive boards.

Leading the Bulldogs
-Junior forward, Chanel Jemmott, scored 13 points and was one rebound shy of a double-double with nine boards. She also blocked two shots.
-Junior guard, Taylor George, scored eight of her 13 points in the second half.  
-Goodman scored 11 points off of the bench while shooting a perfect 3-3 from beyond the arc.

Leading Adrian
-Shatrice Graves scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for the game's only double-double. 
-Arjanae Morgan added 11 points and grabbed six boards for the Bulldogs.
