Box Score 2 Jersey City, NJ---The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team dropped both matches in a non-conference trimatch hosted by New Jersey City University today. In the first match of the day, the Bulldogs fell to the host, 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-9), before closing out their day with a 3-0 (25-7, 25-21, 25-12) loss to Wilkes University. Brooklyn drops to 4-7 with the loss. The Bulldogs will look to snap their four-loss skid on Wednesday, February 19, back at home in a non-conference match against Misercordia University at 6pm.
Trimatch Summary
- In the first match of the day against NJCU, the Bulldogs weren't able to put more than a two-score rally together until late in the final game. The Gothic Knights finished with an efficient .356 team hitting percentage. NJCU also finished with seven blocks and eight service aces for the match.
- BC junior outside hitter, Jasper Diangco, tied for a match-high 14 kills to lead the Bulldogs. Senior setter, Michael Valentin, came up with a match-high nine digs to go along with a team-high 18 assists.
- After falling to Wilkes in convincing fashion in the first game of the second match, Brooklyn showed resilience in the second, trailing the Colonels, 20-18, after being down 11-6 earlier in the game. However, Wilkes put together back-to-back scores toward the end of the game.
- Diangco finished with a team-high seven kills for a total of 21 for the day. Sophomore middle hitter, Omar Rezika chipped in with a pair of service aces and a pair of blocks.
