Luis Flores Elevated to Interim Head Coach for Men's Soccer

Brooklyn, NY----Announced recently by BC Director of Athletics, Bruce Filosa, Luis Flores has been elevated to Interim Head Coach of the Brooklyn College Men's Soccer program.  Flores served as an assistant coach during the 2019 Season.  He make his head coaching debut on September 4 at Kean University.  

"We are happy to have Luis take the reigns of our men's soccer program," Filosa would comment.  He has really stepped up to the plate in the last few months and we're confident that the program will continue to achieve success with him at the helm."

 Flores brought 25 years of experience on the sideline to Brooklyn College in 2019. For 18 years, Coach Flores had been the boys' varsity soccer Head Coach for the Julia Richman Education Complex high school.
 
Along with his high school coaching experience that spans almost two decades, Flores has an extensive club background.  Since 2007, he has been a youth coach for the Brooklyn Italians SC.  In 2016 he became the director and coach for the Azzurri FC girls program.  Prior to joining the Brooklyn Italians and Azzurri, Flores coached with the Brooklyn Patriots SC.  His club experience has helped him build network of relationships with coaches throughout New York City and beyond. 
 
No stranger to the CUNYAC, Flores played collegiately at Baruch College after playing high school soccer at Xaverian High School in Brooklyn. 
 
A veteran teacher at Julia Richman Education Complex, Coach Flores continues his education in coaching soccer.  He has gone on to earn a USSF B License, a NSCAA National Advanced Diploma, and a NSCAA Director of Coaching Certificate.
