Alex Lang (Associate Athletic Director) served as the master of ceremonies for the event that honored Brooklyn's student-athletes across 14 teams for the 2022-23 Academic Year. New Director of Athletics, Erik Smiles, gave the banquet's opening before presenting Lang with a Brooklyn College Athletics Legacy Award for his 20+ Years of Meritorious Service to the women's basketball team and athletics program.
Three major student-athlete awards were handed out on the day with the Ed Madden Memorial Award, the Tracy Ohrman Memorial Award, and the Joseph. The Ed Madden Memorial Award is given to one male and one female student-athlete that demonstrates courage and leadership while exemplifying the true spirit of sport. The Tracy Ohrman Award is given to a student-athlete that exemplifies personal strength and perseverance. For the second straight, an award was presented in the name of BC Men's Soccer Coach, Joseph R. Aleah Rafat (Women's Volleyball, Women's Basketball, Softball) and Motti Lev(Men's Tennis) would take home the Tracy Ohrman Award.
