Brooklyn, NY----Announced by the City University of New York Athletic Conference on Tuesday, a quartet of Bulldogs have earned CUNYAC Men's Volleyball postseason honors. Senior libero,
Dion Csikortos, was named the conference's Libero of the Year, also earning him a First Team All-Star selection. Sophomore outside hitter,
Aaron Siu, was named a First Team CUNYAC All-Star. First year right side hitter,
Joaquin Calderon, received a Second Team CUNYAC All-Star nod. In addition, senior setter,
David Lema was selected to the conference's Sportsmanship Team. The four honorees helped Brooklyn to a 9-5 conference records and the program's first CUNYAC Championship Tournament semifinal appearance since 2017.
Dion Csikortos (Libero of the Year / First Team All-Star)
- Three-year member of the team.
- Ranked second in the CUNYAC in digs with 223 for the season.
- Came up with a season-high 19 digs against CCNY on 3/6.
- Reached double figures in digs seven times on the season.
- Ranked third on the team in assists with 33.
Aaron Siu (First Team All-Star)
- Second straight CUNYAC All-Star honor. He was named a Second Team All-Star for the 2024 season.
- Ranked fourth in CUNYAC with 241 kills on the season while tenth in hitting percentage.
- Ranked sixth in CUNYAC with 35 service aces.
- Was named CUNYAC Player of the Week.
- Put away a season-high 15 kills against Mt. St. Vincent on 2/4.
- Came up with a season-high 13 digs while also putting away 11 kills against Lehman in conference play on 3/18.
Joaquin Calderon (Second Team All-Star)
- Ranked sixth in CUNYAC with 220 kills on the season.
- Ranked seventh in CUNYAC with 265.5 points.
- Was named CUNYAC Rookie of the Week during the season.
- Matched a season-high 15 kills in conference play against CCNY on 3/20.
- Reached double-figures in kills 10 times on the season.
David Lema (Sportsmanship Team)
- Led CUNYAC in assists with 724 on the season.
- Ranked third in CUNYAC with 165 digs.
- Set for a season-high 46 assists against Purchase College on 1/23.
