White Plains, NY --- Brooklyn College women's basketball senior forward
Frances Lyons (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison) has been named to the 2009-10 All-Met Division III Women's Basketball Third Team, by the National Invitational Tournament and the Met Basketball Writers Association.
Lyons had an immediate impact in her first and only season with the Bulldogs, helping to lead the team to a 17-11 record (9-4 CUNYAC) and the CUNYAC South Division Championship. Brooklyn would earn a berth in the ECAC Metro Tournament, as the fourth seed on the strength of its season, falling to number one seeded Stevens Tech in the semifinals, 52-45.

Lyons started in all 28 games on the season for the Bulldogs, making 27 starts, while averaging 27.5 minutes per game. She led the team in scoring (15.9 ppg), rebounding (9.5 rpg) and shooting percentage (.543), going 177-for-326 from the field. Her 54.3% shooting percentage was also best in the CUNYAC and ranked her 32nd nationally. Lyons ranked fifth in the conference in scoring, eighth in rebounding, fifth in offensive rebounding and seventh in free throw shooting percentage, going 89-for-129 (69.0%) from the charity stripe.
Lyons was also named to the CUNY Athletic Conference All-Conference First Team, earlier this season.
