Men’s Volleyball Drops a Pair of Games at CUNYAC Multi-Match

Box Score vs. York College

New York, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Volleyball team dropped both of its matches at the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Multi-Match earlier today held at the City College of New York. The Bulldogs fell to Hunter College in straight sets and lost York College in a five-set thriller 3-2 (22-25, 25-17, 16-25, 26-24, 16-14). BC is now 5-11 overall on the season and 5-8 in conference play.

Freshman Alexander Shlivko led the Bulldogs in the first game of the day against Hunter, recording seven kills. Junior Duong Thai added six kills, while classmate David Choy chipped in with five kills. Freshman Timothy Hui contributed with 10 digs.

In the nightcap, Shlivko once again paced the BC offense with 13 kills, to go along with eight digs and three block assists. Thai finished with 10 kills and seven block assists, while Choy added eight kills. Junior Mohamed Taman chipped in with six kills, as sophomore Mateusz Gotowicki was strong in the middle recording eight block assists. Hui was solid defensively again contributing with 14 digs, as senior Gene Tom dished out 21 assists to go with seven digs.

Brooklyn is back in action on Monday, March 7th, as the Bulldogs will play host to the Gothic Knights of New Jersey City University at 7:00 p.m. The Bulldogs will look to avenge their loss to the Gothic Knights earlier this season, as NJCU defeated BC, 3-0 (25-8, 25-20, 25-21), back on February 3rd in Jersey City, NJ.
