Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Men's Basketball Team withstood a strong second half run by visiting Knights of Berkeley College (NY), holding on to win their third straight game, 83-78. The win brings the Bulldogs season mark to 15-7 overall, while Berkeley falls to 13-8 on the year.
Brooklyn jumped out to an early 18-9 lead as
Filipp Bochkov converted on a basket to cap a 9-2 run. BC would go on to extend the lead to as many as 20, 43-23, with 3:27 to play in the half, as

Berkeley would manage to cut the deficit to 14 at the break, and then after regrouping in the locker room, the Knights looked like a different team in the second half as they chipped away at the Bulldogs' advantage.
Berkeley center Elijah Craig, who was held to four first half points, exploded for 23 in the second half, two of which cut the deficit to two, 72-70, with 5:04 remaining.
After an
Amil John miss, Jose Stable was able to tie the game on a basket at the other end. John would come right back and draw a foul at the other end, and after making both free throws, John would give his team a lead that they would not once again relinquish.
John finished the game with a team-high 23 points to go along with eight assists and six boards. Baker added 17 while coming up with four steals for the Bulldogs.
Craig led Berkeley with 27 points and 13 rebounds, while Stabel scored 24 points and dished out seven assists.
Brooklyn will head out on the road Wednesday for a CUNYAC South Division matchup against York College scheduled for 8 pm.
