Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's and Women's Basketball teams will both be in action tomorrow, Saturday, March 3rd as both squads will be playing in the Semifinals Round of the 2012 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Tournament.
The BC Men will be traveling to Galloway, NJ for their game at Richard Stockton College. The Bulldogs, the #3 seed in the tournament, defeated #6 seed Rutgers-Newark, 93-80, in the First Round on February 29th to advance to the semifinals. Brooklyn will be playing #2 Richard Stockton, the host, at 4:00 pm. The other semifinals game features #1 Stevens Institute of Technology taking on #4 Mount Saint Mary College at 6:00 pm.

The winners of the semifinals will meet the very next day, Sunday, March 4th at 4:00 pm in the championship game, also at Richard Stockton.
Senior
Tyshawn Russell is averaging a team leading 21.6 points per game for BC. Classmate and backcourt partner
Amil John is the team's second leading scorer at 17.8 ppg, while averaging 6.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.4 steals per game, all team-highs.
Junior
Kavon Baker has had a breakout season averaging 13.4 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 3.1 apg and 2.7 spg. Classmate
Steven Grant is chipping in with 8.4 ppg, while senior
Keiran Halton is contributing with 6.8 ppg and 4.7 rpg.
The BC Women will be traveling to Newark, NJ for their game at Rutgers-Newark. The Bulldogs, the #4 seed in the tournament, edged out #5 SUNY Old Westbury, 52-51, in the First Round on February 29th to advance to the semifinals. Brooklyn will be playing the top seed and host, Rutgers-Newark, at 6:00 pm. The other semifinals game features #3 Richard Stockton taking on #7 Stevens Institute of Technology at 8:00 pm.
The winners of the semifinals will meet the following day, Sunday, March 4th at 7:00 pm in the championship game, also at Rutgers-Newark.

Lauren Plagainos is averaging a team-best 12.6 ppg, while junior
Charnelle Saint Laurent and senior
Justine O'Callahan are also in double-figures in scoring with 10.3 ppg and 10.2 ppg, respectively.
Junior
Tiffany Thompson is the teams leading rebounder with 8.4 rpg, while freshman
Nicole Francomano is dishing out team-best 5.0 apg, to go along with a team-high 2.4 spg.
