Brooklyn, NY----Announced by the City University of New York Athletic Conference on Monday, Brooklyn College freshman pitcher, has been named CUNYAC Pitcher of the Week, and freshman catcher,
Katelyn Young, has earned an Honorable mention with the release of the conference's Softball Weekly Awards. It is the first time this season either has earned a weekly award. The duo helped BC to a 5-1 record on the week including a conference sweep of Lehman on Saturday.
Bowe was a perfect 3-0 on the week in the circle, pitching 19 innings. She yielded 21 hits and was charged with 7 earned runs. In Game 2 against Lehman on Saturday, Bowe pitched seven shutout innings giving up just four hits.
Young went 10-20 with 8 RBI on the week. In Game 1 against Lehman, Young went 3-4 with an RBI in Brooklyn's 14-1 victory. She also went 3-4 with 2 RBI in the Bulldogs' 7-6 non-conference win over Purchase on Monday.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday at home against York in conference play with the doubleheader beginning at 4pm at BC Field.
