Sarah James' career-high 24 points and career-high 12 rebounds, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team outlasted Baruch College, 83-68, on the road tonight in conference play. Sarah's sister, freshman guard
Ericka James, added 18 points in the win. Brooklyn remains undefeated (12-0) in CUNYAC and 17-6 overall with their ninth victory in the last ten games. Baruch drops to 13-9 and 7-6 in CUNYAC will the loss at home. The Bulldogs will look to keep their undefeated record in conference action going at John Jay this Saturday at 1pm.
How It Happened
- Clinging to a 47-43 lead with 7:10 left in the third quarter, the Bulldogs went on a key 7-0 run to push their lead up 11 with 3:32 remaining. Sarah James capped the run with a made three. The Bulldogs led by as many as 12 points in the third quarter before the Bearcats chopped the lead down to 65-57 to close out the quarter.
- The Bearcats cut the Brooklyn lead down to as few as six points in the opening minute of the fourth quarter, but the Bulldogs responded with a 7-0 run to take a 72-59 lead with 6:56 left in the contest. Brooklyn had an answer to every Bearcat bucket from that point on, closing out the win with their largest lad of the game.
- Junior guard, Taylor George, paced the Bulldogs with 15 points in a very close first half that saw four lead changes. Brooklyn clung to a 38-36 halftime lead.
