BC Women's Swim & Dive Wraps Up Regular Season at College of Staten Island

Dolphins Stay True To Their Name As Bulldogs Could Not Keep Up

STATEN ISLAND, New York ------ Coming into their first meet away from home in some time, the Brooklyn College women's swimming and diving team would travel to face a former CUNYAC member in the College of Staten Island Dolphins. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, the Dolphins would live up to their mascot name, as they showed just how well they could swim compared to dogs, as Brooklyn College would drop the meet by a score of 172-64.

The Brooklyn College Bulldogs (3-9) end the regular season with a losing record, failing to win two meets in a row, while the College of Staten Island Dolphins (5-6) continue to succeed outside of their conference and have now won the last two meets.

WIth Brooklyn coming up short, it would be Elizabeth Bailey-Hamm that would give them their first win of the day, placing first in Event 11 with a time of 26.60 in the 50 yard freestyle.

Antonietta Baerga would just about narrowly defeat her closest opponent for first place with a time of 1:18.05, just twenty-nine hunderedths of a second ahead in the 100 yard breastroke from Event 19.

Up next, the Brooklyn College women's swimming and diving team will prepare for the first day of the CUNYAC Championships on Friday, January 30th.
