Senior Dmitry Prokofyev has fueled the Brooklyn College Men’s Soccer team in the opening month of the season, as the Russian native has registered nine of BC’s 22 goals on the year so far.
Prokofyev has started in all 10 games for BC, while totaling nine goals and two assists, for 20 points. He has scored in five of Brooklyn’s 10 games, while scoring multiple goals in three games.
He has also recorded two game-winning goals, as he notched game-winners against borough rival NYU-Poly on September 13th and conference foe Hunter College on September 25th.
Prokofyev was also a perfect 4-for-4 in penalty kick opportunities, converting one against NYU on September 6th, two against Berkeley College (NY) on September 23rd and one against reigning CUNYAC champion Baruch College on September 28th.
His highlight game of the month came against Baruch, as Prokofyev tallied a hat-trick, scoring all three of the Bulldogs’ goals, in a 4-3 loss.
A Physical Education major with a minor in Studio Arts, Prokofyev has a 3.523 GPA in the classroom.
For his efforts, Dmitry Prokofyev has been named the Brooklyn College Male Student-Athlete of the Month, for the month of September.
