Megan Campbell Named December Brooklyn College Female Student-Athlete of the Month
Senior forward Megan Campbell played a major role in helping to guide the Brooklyn College Women’s Basketball team to a three-game winning streak to close out the month of December.
Campbell played in all five games in the month of December for the Bulldogs, starting in four games, while recording a double-double in four out of the five games. The Tobyhanna, PA native nearly averaged a double-double for the month, averaging 15.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game, to go along with 1.2 blocks per game, while logging in 24.0 minutes per contest.
In BC’s first game of the month, a loss against New York University on December 3rd, Campbell finished the night with just six points and three rebounds. She would bounce back in Brooklyn’s next game, a loss against conference rival Staten Island on December 6th, recording her first career double-double in a Bulldog uniform, with 11 points and a season-high 11 rebounds.
Campbell would record her second straight double-double in a win against league foe York College on December 10th with a season-best 23 points, to go along with 11 rebounds. She would duplicate her 23-point and 11-rebound performance the very next day against regional non-conference rival Old Westbury on December 11th.
Campbell finished out the month with 15 points and 11 rebounds in a win against borough and conference rival Medgar Evers on December 13th.
For her efforts against York, Old Westbury and Medgar Evers, Campbell was named the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while also being named to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week, for the week ending December 15th.
