Brooklyn, NY---Announced by the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) on Monday, a trio of Brooklyn College freshmen earned CUNYAC Softball Weekly Awards for their efforts in a pair of wins over Yeshiva University on Friday.
Victoria Elderbaum was named Rookie of the Week,
Kureshma Dhanraj received a Pitcher of the Week nod, and
Addy Cook earned an Hinorable Mention.
In a Brooklyn doubleheader sweep of Yeshiva on Friday, Elderbaum went 3-5 with 6 RBIs. She knocked a homer in each of the two games played including a grand slam in Game 1.
Earning her first win of the season in Game 1 of Brooklyn's doubleheader sweep of Yeshiva on Friday, Dhanraj pitched a five-inning complete game, yielding just one run (unearned), while striking out nine batters.
Continuing the hot start to her collegiate career on Friday, Cook went 5-8, scored five runs, and drove in a pair of runs between the two games. She went 3-4, drew a walk, and scored three times in Game 2 of the doubleheader against Yeshiva.
The Bulldogs are back in action on the road on Wednesday, 3/25, at Montclair State University for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3pm.
